Dental Fillings May Cause Health Issues

The CDC has done a study on dental fillings that suggest the heavy metals may cause reproductive health issues, and chronic urinary problems. According to the new data from the CDC dental amalgam fillings are bad for you, and may cause problems in your kidneys and fertility issues. They may also make a person have a higher risk of chronic health conditions according to Dental Amalgam Mercury Solutions.
The release cites the CDC and NHANES stating that people exposed to mercury through amalgams
have increased cases of genitourinary disease. A study in 2009 discovered inorganic mercury levels in
people are steadily increasing. The study uses data from NHANES, stating that mercury was found in
30% of women in the age grouping of 18-49 from the years 2005-06. This greatly changed from
another study gathered from 1999-2000 which only had detection rates of 2 %. Testing on hair showed
that 22% were exposed to dangerous levels of mercury.

Exposure to mercury causes very harmful effects to human health. Exposure has been proven to be
very damaging to kidney functions. Symptoms may include kidney abnormalities, memory problems,
skin rashes, and neurological disturbances.

Health Canada has commissioned a report in which findings estimate that up to 20% of the population
has impairment in their kidneys or central nervous system because of exposure to amalgam mercury.
Exposure was said to produce dose-dependant cyctoxicity by creating increased levels of hydrogen
peroxide that normally would have been voided by pyruvate and catalase. Mercuric chloride is known
to inhibit functions of other organelles such as lysosomes that hold transmembrane proton gradient,
also it lowers glutathione peroxidase in kindneys while regulating heme oxidase function. The toxic
level of mercury is set at 30 mcg/L, but has been found to be fatal at lower amounts. Traces found in
urine indicates high retention in the body.

60 thousand dentists and assistants in the USA were involved in a study with findings that showed
continuous exposure to mercury vapor and anesthetics resulted in increased cases of kidney, liver, and
neurological diseases. Another study in Scotland recently produced similar findings. Other studies
suggest that dental workers have a higher risk of cancer. Mercury also limits the production of
adenosine triphosphate which causes fatigue, formation of porphyrins in urine, and digestive issues.

Mercury has also been linked to hyperthyroidism, autoimmune thyroiditis, and spontaneous abortions
in pregnant women. These findings add to the links of connections to maternal thyrois disease and
infants born with kidney, heart, and brain defects, as metals can cause mobile acidic situations that
results in disease. Additionally studies have shown mercury accumulates in the testes and ovaries.

This limits the production of enzymes needed to produce sperm, damaging an estimate 85% of sperm produced, and affects the DNA in sperms cells, women become prone to menstrual disturbances and infertility. Mercury and the body is a bad combination, and dangerous toxic playground.
